PT Dexin Steel Indonesia is one of the largest steel production bases in Indonesia, located in the Morowali Industrial Park in Central Sulawesi. This project is a key capacity cooperation initiative between China and Indonesia under the Belt and Road Initiative, with an annual production capacity of millions of tons, supplying critical steel materials for infrastructure development in Indonesia and Southeast Asia.
Burkaf partnered with MCC Indonesia (Metallurgical Corporation of China Indonesia) to provide cable trays, C-profiles (strut channels), and metallic conduits for the electrical system of this steel plant, meeting the demanding requirements of high-temperature, dusty, and heavy industrial environments.
High-Temperature Environment: Production areas of the steel plant (such as steelmaking and rolling mills) experience high ambient temperatures, with some areas subject to thermal radiation, demanding excellent heat resistance and thermal stability from cable trays and conduits.
Dust and Contamination: Steel production generates significant dust and pollutants, requiring cable support systems to have good sealing and dust resistance to prevent dust accumulation that could affect cable heat dissipation or create safety hazards.
Heavy Industrial Mechanical Vibration: Heavy equipment such as rolling mills and fans generate continuous vibration, demanding sufficient mechanical strength and vibration resistance from the cable tray and support system.
High-Current Power Cable Routing: Steel plants have substantial power loads, with large cross-section power cables in high volumes, requiring the cable tray system to provide ample load capacity and rational routing space.
Coordination with MCC: As a world-renowned metallurgical engineering EPC contractor, MCC imposes strict requirements on supplier technical standards, quality management, and project delivery.
Burkaf provided a combined solution of cable trays, C-profiles, and metallic conduits to fully address the unique demands of the steel plant electrical system in harsh industrial environments.
