The Almaty Data Center is one of the largest data centers in Kazakhstan, located in Almaty, the country's former capital and economic-cultural center. The project is developed by Kazteleport, a leading telecommunications and digital service provider in Kazakhstan, aiming to enhance data processing capacity, cloud computing services, and digital infrastructure in Kazakhstan and the Central Asian region.
Burkaf partnered with Huawei Technologies, a global leader in ICT solutions, to provide perforated cable trays, C-profiles (strut channels), and grounding wires for this project, supporting the growing digital infrastructure demands of the Central Asian region.
Extreme Temperature Fluctuations of Continental Climate: Kazakhstan has a typical continental climate, with winter temperatures dropping as low as -40°C and summer temperatures exceeding 40°C, resulting in enormous annual temperature variations. Products must maintain stable mechanical performance and dimensional accuracy under both extreme low and high temperatures.
High-Density Cable Management: Data centers feature dense server cabinets with massive numbers of power and data cables, demanding high capacity and superior cable organization from the support system.
Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) Control: Power cables must be effectively segregated from sensitive data cables to prevent EMI that could compromise data transmission quality.
Electrical Safety and Grounding Protection: As critical digital infrastructure, data centers demand extremely high standards of grounding protection, requiring complete grounding continuity.
Coordination with Huawei Technologies: As a global-leading ICT supplier, Huawei imposes strict requirements on technical standards, quality consistency, and delivery management for supporting products.
Burkaf provided a combined solution of perforated cable trays, C-profiles, and grounding wires for this project, fully meeting the high standards of the Almaty Data Center under extreme climate conditions.
1. Perforated Cable Trays: Facilitating Cable Routing and Heat Dissipation
Perforated cable trays feature an open-bottom hole pattern, facilitating cable fixing and tying for neat, orderly wiring. The open structure also allows timely dissipation of heat generated during cable operation, preventing heat buildup—ideal for high-density data center environments.
2. Extreme Temperature Adaptability
Burkaf products feature low-temperature and high-temperature resistant material design, maintaining good mechanical performance across extreme temperature ranges from -40°C to high heat without embrittlement, cracking, or deformation, adapting to the harsh conditions of Kazakhstan's continental climate.
3. C-Profiles: A Flexible Support System
C-profiles, combined with matching connectors, enabled rapid construction of tray hangers, above-cabinet supports, and equipment brackets, adapting to the complex installation environment of data centers. The standardized design facilitates on-site cutting and adjustments, improving installation efficiency.
4. Complete Grounding Protection System
Burkaf provided dedicated grounding wires and matching connectors, ensuring reliable electrical continuity between tray sections and between the tray system and the main grounding grid. Proper grounding continuity effectively prevents static buildup, reduces electrical fault risks, and ensures the safety of data center equipment and data.
5. Effective Segregation of Power and Data Cables
Through rational tray layout and routing planning, the system achieves physical separation between power cables and data cables, reducing electromagnetic interference risks and ensuring stable, reliable data transmission.
6. Meeting Huawei Technologies' Strict Standards
Burkaf products successfully passed technical reviews and quality inspections by Huawei Technologies, with complete product documentation, test reports, and quality traceability documents provided, demonstrating the capability to deliver in coordination with a global-leading ICT supplier.
The Almaty Data Center was successfully completed and put into operation in 2024, becoming one of the largest data centers in Kazakhstan.
The Burkaf perforated cable tray, C-profile, and grounding wire system operated reliably under extreme temperature fluctuation conditions, with no product performance degradation caused by temperature variations.
